Mamagama to Represent Azerbaijan at Eurovision 2025

Azerbaijan has officially selected Mamagama as its representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, Switzerland. The band, known for its fusion of pop-rock with traditional Azerbaijani influences, will aim to leave a strong mark on the competition.

Who Are Mamagama?

Mamagama is an emerging Azerbaijani band that brings a unique blend of modern and ethnic sounds to the stage. Their music is characterized by bold instrumentation, deep storytelling, and a mix of contemporary and traditional elements. This marks Azerbaijan’s first time sending a band in several years, shifting from their usual preference for solo artists.

How Was Mamagama Selected?

Azerbaijan’s national broadcaster, İTV, conducted an internal selection process after receiving 214 song submissions from both local and international songwriters. After careful consideration, Mamagama was chosen as the act best suited to represent Azerbaijan on the Eurovision stage.

When Will Their Eurovision Song Be Released?

While Mamagama’s participation has been officially confirmed, their Eurovision song has not yet been revealed. The release date remains unknown for now, but fans can expect further details in the coming weeks.

Azerbaijan’s Eurovision Journey

Azerbaijan has a strong history in the contest, including a victory in 2011 with Ell & Nikki’s “Running Scared”. However, their results in recent years have been mixed, with Fahree’s “Özünlə Apar” successfully bringing the country back to the Grand Final in 2024 after a non-qualification in 2023.
