Maja wins Szansa na Sukces earning her ticket to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2023
It’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest season and the next country to announce their song & singer is Poland. Poland will be represented by Maja Krzyżewska who will sing her song “I Just Need A Friend”.
Maja earned her ticket to Junior Eurovision 2023 through Poland’s national final selection process “Szansa na Sukces”, winning the competition with flying colours. Maja was one of five participants who made it to the final of Szansa na Sukces, where all competitors were required to perform in front of a panel of judges.
Once the performances had concluded, the voting lines for the professional jury and televote opened, with the top two performers being revealed by the judges and viewers in a 50:50 ratio. The top two performers in the Szansa na Sukces Final were Leon Olek and Maja Krzyżewska, who then went head to head in a final round both performing the song “I Just Need A Friend”, with Maja being crowned the Szansa na Sukces winner shortly after. The song was written especially for Junior Eurovision by Patryk Kumór, Dominik Buczkowski-Wojtaszek, Piotr Zborowski, Marissa and Carla Fernandes.

Maja Krzyżewska is no stranger to the big stage, having already participated in the sixth edition of The Voice Kids in Poland. At only 12 years old, Maja is especially looking forward to going to Nice, France, where this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be held on November 26th.
Poland has a very good track record when it comes to Junior Eurovision, having been one of the original participants that competed at the very first edition of the contest back in 2003. Poland has in fact won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest twice already and certainly have another strong contender in Maja this year. Will this year’s Szansa na Sukces winner go onto further greatness at this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest? All will be revealed in Nice on November 26th.
