This is not the first time that Måneskin have been associated with MTV’s Music Video Awards. In 2021, they were nominated for three awards – ‘Best Italian Act’, ‘Best Group’ and ‘Best Rock’.

Although losing out to Italian rapper Aka 7even and South Korean group BTS for Best Italian Act and Best Group respectively, they did win Best Rock, making them the first Italian act to take home this award.

The band have also previously struck gold at the MTV Europe Music Awards, winning ‘Best Rock Group’ and at the Billboard Music Awards, where they won ‘Top Rock Song’ for their cover of “Beggin'”.

The 2022 edition of MTVs Music Video Awards will take place at Prudential Center in New Jersey on Sunday, August 28th at 20:00 ET / 02:00 CET. Voting is already open, and can be done here. You can vote up to ten times each day, in each category.
