Two times Eurovision winner Loreen is back with her highly anticipated follow-up single to "Tatoo".
The Swedish superstar has just released her brand new single, and follow-up to “Tatoo”, titled “Is It Love”. The song has been produced by Swedish record producer and songwriter, Rami Yacoub, who has worked with the likes of Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga and Madonna, to name a few.
The song has been written by MTHR, Dag Lundberg and Maia Wright, who have worked with the likes of Zara Larsson, Neiked, Lost Frequencies and Armin van Buuren, respectively. Vocal production has been provided by Albin Nedler, who has worked with Harry Styles, Sam Smith and Selena Gomez. Josh Gudwin, who has worked with Justin Beiber, J Balvin and Bad Bunny, is the mix engineer.
Universal Music Sweden talks about how the journey this engaging and enthralling new anthem takes you on: “Loreen’s powerhouse voice takes center stage. Introspective verses glow over cinematic production as the momentum swells into a soaring Sia-like chorus punctuated by vocal “spiritual pop” fireworks. She opens up like never before as she wonders “Is It Love” on this engaging and enthralling new anthem. “Is It Love” is about the duality in love. How there’s no light without darkness, no clarity without distortion and no love without pain.”
Speaking of the song herself, Loreen says: “Is It Love was born from a place of seeking clarity, it’s a song describing and contemplating a love that’s so deep but at the same time filled with confusion. It’s about realising that to create a deeper understanding of yourself you need to accept the duality of life, that distortion and clarity goes hand in hand and are equally as important. And to experience the depth of true love, both to the self as well as to others, you have to accept and experience the depth of pain.”
Following on from her momtentous Eurovision win earlier this year, which saw her become the first female to win Eurovision more than once, Loreen is also getting ready to embark on her Tattoo Tour, which will see her performing in fifteen different countries across Europe this November and December.
The Tattoo Tour will see some amazing visuals and lighting displays designed by Tobias Rylander, who worked with Beyoncé on her Reniassance World Tour. Tobias has also previously worked with Loreen on her Eurovision 2023 performance of “Tattoo”.
