Ireland’s Lesley Roy has revealed the name and release date of her song for the Eurovision Song Contest 2021. She will sing “Maps” in Rotterdam this May. The song will be revealed on Friday the 26th of February.
In the recent weeks, she has been dropping clues about the song, on TikTok she affirmed that the song title will have four letters, while on Instagram she has been sharing bunch of behind the scenes shots from the music video.
Lesley made the announcement on Friday evening. She shared a video on Instagram from Wicklow where she shot some of her music video earlier in the week.
After the cancellation of Eurovision 2020, Lesley was confirmed to represent Ireland again last December. At that point, RTÉ uncovered that the Irish-born, New York-based vocalist had an exceptional few months making the ideal tune for the challenge. She was diving down somewhere down in Stockholm — and from those profundities she landed what they vowed to be a savage songwriting joint effort.
“Lesley has spent the past three months in studio working on a new song to represent Ireland with, and Ireland’s Eurovision 2020 song has now been chosen and will be revealed in the New Year. The song was written and produced by Lesley, along with Eurovision producer Lukas Hallgren (“She got me”, 4th place ESC 2019), Philip Strand producer/songwriter Normandie, Deepend and Emelie Eriksson known as (EEVA) Stockholm based songwriter at Baggpipe Studios.”
