KEiiNO are back with a brand new dance banger "Get Up".
The Norwegian-Sámi group who represented Norway in Eurovision 2019, have released their latest song “Get Up”, which is the first single in a new series of KEiiNO releases.
The track is very uptempo and upbeat, with a definite nod to 90s. The production of the song is almost entirely based on singing, beatboxing, huffing, growling and joiking, all from Alexandra, Fred and Tom themselves, which have been been processed and suplemented by some drum machine samples.
"We are so excited for this new single, and for all the songs to follow! We’ve been working lots in the studio this year, traveling both around Norway and internationally to challenge ourselves, work with amazing new people, and hopefully create some bangers for the dancefloor."
Tom Hugo
The song, which has been written and composed by the Alexandra, Fred and Tom themselves, alongside Alexander Olssen and Rüdiger Schramm, is available on YouTube and all major streaming services.
KEiiNO was formed in late 2018 by Tom Hugo and his husband, as they were working on the group’s Eurovision 2019 entry “Spirit In The Sky”. They went on to win Melodi Grand Prix with that very song, and at Eurovision, they went on to finish in 6th place, after winning the televote and placing 18th with the juries.
Since Eurovision 2019, KEiiNO have continued to release new music, including 27 songs and one album, “Okta”, in May 2020. They have performed across Europe and Australia, and also throughout Norway, where they had another Melodi Grand Prix participation in 2021, which saw them finish in second place.
The 5x platinum awarded trio has made it to number one on the Norwegian sales-charts, reached number two on Spotify’s Gloabal Viral Chart, won seven Scandipop and two Sami Music-awards, and have even been nominated for the Norwegian Grammys (Spellemann).
