Spain will open Junior Eurovision 2023 in Nice, while The Netherlands will close and host country France will perform in slot 12!
Happy Junior Eurovision week everyone! As always to kick off proceedings we had the opening ceremony which this year took place at Hotel Negresco, with the ceremony hosted by Manon Théodet and France’s 2019 JESC representative Carla Lazzari.
After we were introduced to all 16 acts for this year, the draw took place to decide where host’s France would perform, as well as the opening and closing countries. The draw the determined that France, represented by Zoé Clauzure with the song “Cœur“, would perform in slot 12, while Spain with Sandra Valero and the song “Loviu“ will open the show, and The Netherlands’ Sep & Jasmijn will close with their song “Holding On To You“.
The ceremony also featured a dive into France’s history at Junior Eurovision, with Angélina (2018), Carla (2019), Valentina (2020), Enzo (2021), and Lissandro (2022).
The full running order will be released in a few hours, ready for the live show this Sunday 26 November at the Palais Nikaïa.
