Jamala takes on new role as Music Producer for Vidbir 2026.
Ukrainian broadcaster Suspline have confirmed that Jamala will serve as the Music Producer for next years edition of Vidbir. Jamala has been involved in Vidbir on many occassions in the past as a jury member, but this will be the first time she takes on the role of Music Producer.
From the upcoming season, I expect sincerity and strength. I want to see artists who are ready to step on stage right now and fight for victory. The submission window will open very soon — so I urge everyone to prepare thoroughly and send in your songs.”
Applications for Vidbir 2026 are expected to open at a later date, with further details expected to be announced in the near future. Back in August, Suspline held a listening session in with fans in Kyiv, to discuss how Ukraine’s Eurovision selection method could be improved, and how the broadcaster currently approaches Eurovision in general.
Ukraine’s last Eurovision participation saw the band Ziferblat representing them with the song “Bird of Pray” at Eurovision 2025 in Basel, Switzerland. They won semi final one, and went on to achieve another top 10 placing for Ukraine in the final, ending the night in 9th place.
Just last week, the Ukrainian broadcaster confirmed the country’s participation for Eurovision 2026 in Austria. A further 18 countries have confirmed their interest or intent to participate in Eurovision 2026 in Vienna, Austria on the 12th, 14th and 16th of May.
