Ireland opens submissions for Junior Eurovision 2021!

Irish broadcaster TG4 has confirmed participation in Junior Eurovision 2021, and opened submissions. To apply you need to be aged between 9 and 14, and you do not need an original song. The submissions will close on the 19th of March 2021. 

Ireland was due to participate at Junior Eurovision 2020, however, they withdrew due to the Coronavirus pandemic. 

Ireland is the fourth country to confirm participation in Junior Eurovision 2021. They followed after The Netherlands, Russia and France. 

Ireland at Junior Eurovision

Ireland have participated in every Junior Eurovision since their debut in 2015, where Aimee Banks represented the country with her song Réalta Na Mara, which got her a 12th place. One year later, in 2016 Ireland got their best result to date, when Zena Donnelly got the 10th place with Bríce Ar Bríce. Anna Kearney reached the 12th place in 2019 with her song Banshee. They were due to take part in Junior Eurovision 2020, however, due to the Coronavirus pandemic they withdrew.
