Who was Igor Igor Vovkovinskiy?
Igor was a Ukrainian-American actor and performer who was famed for being the tallest man in the United States, standing at 7 feet 8 inches. Born in Ukraine, he moved to the United States at age 6 to receive treatment for his ever growing height caused by a tumour pressing down on his pituitary gland.
Igor has acted in commercials and films in the United States, including “Hall Pass” in 2011. He was also featured on many documentaries around the world about his height and health issues, including “The Dr Oz Show” and “60 Minutes Australia”.
In 2013, Igor joined Zlata Ognevich on stage at Eurovision in Malmö, Sweden. He carried her on stage at the beginning of the performance. They achieved a top 3 finish for Ukraine.
We would like to send our condolences to Igor’s friends and family at the difficult time.
