It has been confirmed that Sam Ryder will be performing at the BBC's New Years Eve broadcast.

BBC One and BBC iPlayer have confirmed that Sam Ryder’s All Star New Year’s Eve will be taking place as part of their New Years Eve live coverage on radio and television.

Sam Ryder’s All Star New Year’s Eve will see Sam joined by some of the biggest stars in the music industry, who will put on “an out of this world New Year Eve extravaganza” in the run up to 2023.

After midnight, and after London will see it’s first full fireworks display since 2019, the celebrations are set to continue with Sam taking on a number of classic tunes, including duets with many special guests, that is expected to go on until the early hours of the morning.

Speaking on The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 on November 22nd, Sam was able to exclusively reveal the news to everyone.

“I can’t think of a better way to round off 2022 than singing some of my favourite songs with some very special guests. It’s been such an incredible 12 months full of fabulous blessings thanks to fabulous people, and I’m so excited to bring in 2023 with you! As always, thank you for the opportunity!”

Jonathan Rothery, Head of Popular Music TV at the BBC and Mel Balac, Creative Director at BBC Studios Entertainment, are both very happy with the choice of Sam Ryder to help the United Kingdom ring in the new year.

“Sam and his all-star friends performing a party playlist of big songs will be the perfect way to bring in the new year on BBC One”

“Sam will be performing an exclusive set of NYE bangers with some unexpected musical surprises and unique twists along the way. Sam’s energy and charisma is off the scale as a performer and it promises to be one heck of a party for BBC One viewers.“

The singers who will be joining Sam Ryder on New Years Eve have yet to be announced. Tickets for the show can be purchased here.

Since achieving the United Kingdom’s best result at Eurovision back in May, Sam Ryder’s career has skyrocketed. Throughout the summer and early autumn, we saw Sam perform at the Platinum Jubilee concert, the Platinum Party at the Palace, at Capital FM’s Summertime Ball and Silverstone, among many others.

Sam’s debut album Nothing But Space, Man is expected to be released later this month ahead of a sold out United Kingdom and Ireland tour next year.
