Only a few days left until Tu Bije Serce Europy takes place. It's a great moment to get to know the artists better!

This year’s TBSE lineup is an interesting mix of styles and artists with different backgrounds. Some of them have a lot of experience and others are just starting off their careers – meet the Polish National Final participants in the running order!

Natasza - Lift U Up

Natasza is without a doubt, the most experienced performer in the lineup as she performed in many plays (including musicals), won the first Polish season of Masked Singer, as well as the first (and only) edition of a show The Ultimate Entertainer, in which Rafał (Poland 2021) finished 2nd. It isn’t her first attempt to represent Poland in Eurovision – she came 3rd in the selection Piosenka Dla Europy (Song for Europe) with I Like It Loud in 2007 and 2nd with Blow Over in 2008.

KUBA - You Do Me

His career started after The Voice Kids in 2018, where he reached the final, but the true popularity came, when he became a part of a teen boyband 4Dreamers. In 2021, Kuba started his solo career and after a few months, he got a chance to perform in front of the Eurovision audience. He was one of the participants in Tu Bije Serce Europy 2022 with his song Lovesick, where he came 4th and just missed out on the Superfinal.

Ahlena - Booty

She is the most mysterious participant in this year’s lineup. In the selection, she will perform her debut single, which at the time of the TBSE announcement had only a few hundred views on Youtube. Ahlena (Magdalena Pawłowska) started composing in 2020, though music always played a big role in her life. She describes her style as a mix of pop, r’n’b and rap.

Dominik Dudek - Be Good

He is the most recent winner of The Voice of Poland. Dominik is not only a singer, but also a multi-instrumentalist. His musical journey started in the band Redford, with which he toured not only in Poland, but also in the UK, but stayed vaguely unknown. After his The Voice win, he released a few singles, which were played on Polish radio stations. He composed Be Good with Dominic Buczkowski-Wojtaszek and Patryk Kumór, who wrote such songs as Viki Gabor’s Superhero, Sara James’s Somebody and Alicja’s Empires.

Alicja - New Home

Speaking of Empires… Alicja is back. The winner of the 10th season of the Voice and Polish representative in the cancelled Eurovision Song Contest 2020 is in the fight to finally reach the Eurovision stage. Unlike many other contestants, she was not chosen internally in 2021. Alicja comes back to the Polish Selections three years later with a ballad that shows off her impressive vocals. Recently she sang the Official Song of 2023 IHF’s World Men’s Handball Championship Stick Together.

Felivers - Never Back Down

The band was created in 2015 by four friends – Miłosz Fergiński, Wojciech Fortuna, Piotr Cody Dąbrowski and Konrad Jażdżyk. Like many bands, at first they were playing.. in a garage. They started gaining popularity thanks to their collaboration with a popular Polish singer and rapper White 2115 on the song Johnny Knoxville. They list Machine Gun Kelly, Metallica and Yungblud as their musical idols and describe their style as a mix of rock, trap and pop-funk. It is their debut in the Polish National Selections.

Maja Hyży - Never Hide

Maja is another veteran of the Polish selection, as it is her third attempt to represent Poland in the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2018 she performed her song Błysk (Skin) and came 7th. Two years later, in Szansa na Sukces, mostly known as a Polish selection format for Junior Eurovision, her cover of ABBA’s Knowing Me, Knowing You, didn’t guarantee her a place in the final. Maja first appeared in The X Factor, where she reached the semi-final. Although she doesn’t release many original songs, she performs covers in TVP’s shows and concerts, like Sylwester Marzeń (New Year’s Eve of Dreams) or Wakacyjna Trasa Dwójki (Summer Tour of TVP 2). She lists Alicia Keys, Ella Eyre and John Legend as her biggest musical inspirations.

Jann - Gladiator

When Jann released his song Gladiator in October 2022, he became an instant favourite of Polish Eurovision fans. After many messages encouraging him to apply to the Polish Selection, he decided to take his chance. Jann (Jan Rozmanowski) sings since he was a young kid and at the age of 12 he performed in Grand Theatre in Warsaw. When he was 16, he moved to the UK, where he attended Flynn Performing Arts School and later BIMM Institute in London. When he came back to Poland, he released his debut EP Power and performed in Off Festival and Great September Festival. He wrote Gladiator all by himself.

Blanka - Solo

Blanka Stajkow is a half-Polish, half-Bulgarian singer and model, who for a few years lived in the United States. In 2021 she released her debut single, but it’s Solo that brought her name to spotlight. It became a huge radio hit in Poland with over 10 million views on Youtube and over 3 million streams on Spotify. She performed the song not only in TV shows in Poland, but also in Bulgaria – in The Nikolaos Tsitiridis Show.

Yan Majewski - Champion

An 18-year old singer from Radom is slowly becoming more and more popular in Poland, thanks to his participation in such shows as The Voice of Poland, Szansa na Sukces and Jaka to Melodia. So far he has released a few singles, which he co-wrote, but this time he decided to rely on a song written by authors, who are no stranger to Eurovision, including Ashley Hicklin and Mikołaj Trybulec (Ochman’s River, Blas Canto’s Universo and more).

What do we know about TBSE 2023 so far?

Tu Bije Serce Europy will take place on Sunday, February 26 at 17:30 CET in Warsaw. Unlike last year, there will be no Superfinal. Artists will receive points in the Eurovision scale (12,10,8-1) and the jury vote will be deciding in case of a tie. The jury will include, among others, Polish Eurovision legend Edyta Górniak and a choreographer working with the Polish delegation, Agustin Egurrola. The guests that will perform during the National Final are Kalush Orchestra (Ukraine 2022), Stefania (Greece 2020, 2021), Efendi (Azerbaijan 2020, 2021), Ochman (Poland 2022), Sara James (JESC Poland 2021) and Roxie Węgiel (JESC Poland 2018).

Poland in Eurovision

Poland made their Eurovision debut in 1994. Since then, they have used a mix of national finals and internal selections to chose their act for Eurovision, with varying success. Last year, Ochman placed 12th overall, giving Poland its first qualification to the Grand Final since 2017.
