March 15, 2021

Germany has revealed further information about their Junior Eurovision selection process for 2021. After the quick confirmation of their second participation at the junior version of the Eurovision Song Contest, the responsible broadcaster NDR changes some things about the selection process. In a collaboration of NDR and KIKA (the children channel), young talents can apply to a live casting during the summer. Based on a broad jury, the selected artists are up for an online voting on

Compared to 2020 as well as the selection process of the adult version for Germany, this is a big change. Now, the German public can decide who should represent their country Junior Eurovision 2021 that will be held in France.

Susan represented Germany at Junior Eurovision 2020 in Poland with the soul ballad Stronger With You composed by Levent Geiger. Susan has been the first representative for Germany since they have debuted last year. With a total of 66 points, Susan finished 12 out of 12 competing countries in Warsaw.

Except for Germany and the host country France, Georgia, The Netherlands, Spain, Russia as well as Ireland have already confirmed their confirmation for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021. Many more countries are expected to confirm their participation.

What do you think of Germany’s selection changes? Who would you like to see representing Germany at JESC? Let us know down in the comments.

  1. Hi, this year we have so many amazing artists in The Voice Kids Germany – you should take a look. One of those contestants could represent Germany (but I don’t know if they are allowed to take part in another Show/contest that year because I don’t know the contracts). Maybe we should send 2, 3 or even 4 singers (like Russia or The Netherlands). In any case the song and the staging should be high-class …..and there is the problem. Germany has the same problem in the adult ESC. Germany has mostly boring mediocre songs and almost no staging (like S!sters).
