Vesa-Matti Loiri has passed away at the age of 77 due to complications from cancer.
Loiri represented Finland at the 1980 Eurovision Song Contest with his song Huilumies, placing last out of 19 acts with just six points.
In his post-Eurovision years, Loiri continued his acting career which spanned five decades. In his long career, Loiri voiced the Finnish version of Genie in Disney’s 1992 animated film Aladdin and played the comedic character Uuno Turhapuro in 20 films.
