The Belorussian broadcaster has reported receiving approximately 50 songs for Eurovision 2021. Belarus has still not decided how it will make its decision on the representative for the next Eurovision Song Contest. After a call for applications, the broadcaster announces that it has received several songs

Last year BTRC had received nearly a hundred songs, so it is about half as much this year. The candidates had to send a song composition accompanied by a video recording the entry.

Now applications are being checked for compliance with the rules of the international competition and the provisions of the national selection. This year, the mechanism for choosing the winner of the project depends on many factors, in particular, on the epidemiological situation in the world.

Last year’s candidates, Val, were banned from representing their country in September 2020. The decision was based on several disagreements between the candidates and the national broadcaster BTRC. They were to represent the country with a song in Belarusian “Da Vidna”.

Since its first participation in 2004, the country has qualified to 6 finals and sent only 2 songs in its national language. Belarus best place was in 2007 when Dmitry Koldun finished sixth.
