Eurostory Best Lyrics Award 2022 is back for a sixth year

Online literary-journalistic magazine, Eurostory.nl, have announced that their annual Best Lyrics award will be returning for a sixth year.

A total of six entries from Eurovision 2022 have been nominated for the award, and in the coming week, two entries will be revealed a day. Behind Best Lyrics Award are Eurostory editors Lars Koning and Jelmer Soes.

Previous winners of the Best Lyrics award have been Jamala with “1994”; Alma with “Reqiuem”; Madame Monsiuer and “Mercy”; Mahmood’s “Soldi” and Måneskin with “Zitte e Buoni”.

Speaking of their win for the lyrics of “Zitte e Buoni”, Damiano of Måneskin said: “This is so special. For the first time in my life, I receive an award for my lyrics. I will never forget this.” The song was chosen by an international expert jury panel made up of over 60 published authors, journalists, editors, songwriters, translators, former Eurovision participants from 17 countries and over 40,000 readers of Eurostory.nl.

Just like in previous years, the winner of this years Best Lyrics Award wil be decided by 25% online votes and 75% international jury votes. The online voting will open on April 22nd, when all of the six nominees have been announced.
