The journey of the 2024 season of the Melodifestivalen, which is one of the most popular national finals among Eurovision fans, kicked off today with an SVTPlay live!
At the beginning of this season, we learned that there was a new change in Melodifestivalen. This year, there will be five heats, each featuring six songs. The two acts with the highest votes from each heat will directly secure their spots as finalists in the final show in Stockholm. After the fifth show, the third and fourth-placed acts from all heats will compete again in a second round of voting. From these ten contestants, the two acts with the highest votes will also earn the right to be finalists in Stockholm. So, we can say that Heat 5 will be quite extended 🙂
In the live broadcast made on the official SVT Play earlier today, the names of the participants and details of the competition for the year 2024 were announced. Every year, we hear rumours from Aftonbladet about the names that will compete at Melodifestivalen. This year, we have seen that artists such as Danny Saucedo, Dotter, Marcus&Martinus, among others announced by Aftonbladet, are indeed returning to the competition.
