Georgia will host the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025!
It has been officially confirmed that Georgia will be hosting Junior Eurovision 2025. The country’s capital city, Tbilisi, will once again play host to Junior Eurovision, this time on Saturday 13th December, 2025. This will be the second time that Georgia and Tbilisi will host Junior Eurovision; the first time being in 2017, following on from their third Junior Eurovision win in 2016.
Eurovision Song Contest Director, Martin Green CBE, is very excited to be returning to Georgia for Junior Eurovision: “We can’t wait to return to Georgia, a nation that’s profoundly passionate about the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. GPB’s proven ability to deliver outstanding shows gives us every confidence that this will be an exceptional edition that creates cherished memories for young participants and audiences worldwide.”
GPB Director General, Tinatin Berdzenishvili, is honoured to bring the contest back to Georgia and Tbilisi for a second time: “Hosting Junior Eurovision again in Tbilisi is a great honour for Georgia. It’s a huge responsibility and we’re aiming to deliver an even bigger and more entertaining show than ever before. We look forward to welcoming young talents and fans from around the world to share our rich culture, heritage, and celebrated hospitality.”
Head of Delegation for Georgia, Natia Mshvenieradze, hopes the 2025 contest can surpass that of the 2017 contest: “The 2017 edition was an unforgettable journey. Eight years on, and we aim to surpass that success by creating an even more spectacular event that will resonate for years to come.”
Further details about Junior Eurovision 2025, including the venue, hosts, opening ceremony and participating countries are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
With four wins under their belt, Georgia are the most successful country in Junior Eurovision. They won the contest in 2008, 2011, 2016 and 2024. Their most recent Junior Eurovision win was a record breaking win, with Andria Putkaradze wracking up an impressive 12 sets of 12 points.
Georgia’s capital city Tbilisi played host to Junior Eurovision in 2017 at the Olympic Palace. Helen Kalandadze and Georgia’s Junior Eurovision 2017 representative Liza Japaridze (Lizi Pop) hosted the contest that saw 17 countries participating. Polina Bogusevich won the contest for Russia with her song “Wings”.
