Earlier today, the European Broadcasting Union released a statement regarding the Dutch representative for Eurovision 2024, Joost Klein. The statement is as follows:

“We are currently investigating an incident that was reported to us involving the Dutch artist. He will not be rehearsing until further notice. We have further comment at this time and will update in due course.”

Joost Klein was due to perform in the first dress rehearsal this afternoon for the Eurovision 2024 grand final. However, after appearing in the flag parade at the beginning of the show, he was not present for his performance on stage. Instead, we went from Tali’s performance in fourth place in the running order to Eden Golan’s performance in sixth place in the running order.

At the time of writing, it has been confirmed that a physical altercation did happen between “the artist and a photographer”. However, it has not been confirmed what specifically happened, or what action, if any, will be taken as a result of this physical altercation.

We will be sure to update you all on this incident as soon as we get any confirmation of what has happened, and what will happen.
