Bambie Thug has explained their absence from todays dress rehearsal for the Eurovision 2024 final.
This afternoon, the final dress rehearsal for the live Eurovision 2024 grand final is taking place. Ireland’s representative Bambie Thug did not appear during the flag parade, nor did they perform live. Instead, a live-on tape was used for them.
On their official Instagram account, Bambie Thug has posted a story which explains why they were absent from this afternoons dress rehearsal. The statement is as follows:
Dear Coven,
There was a situation while we were waiting to go on stage for the flag parade rehearsal which I felt needed urgent attention from the EBU – the EBU have taken this matter seriously and we have been in discussion about what action needs to be taken. This means I have missed my dress rehearsal – I am really sorry to all the fans that have come to see me. I hope to see you on the stage tonight.

Ireland’s broadcaster RTÉ report that Bambie Thug has called on the organisers of the contest to address the commentary made on Israeli television prior to their performance in semi final one of Eurovision 2024.
