Eurovision fans will likely recognise one of the member of The Starlings in Tom Dice. He represent Belgium at Eurovision in 2010 with “Me and My Guitar” which finished in 6th place.

Each artist will present two songs, that will be showcased through a series of pre-recorded performances from the 9th January to build up to the live grand final on the 14th January.

This is the first Eurosong since 2016, host Peter Van Veire described the Eurovision Song Contest as “The Olympic Games of music“.

“The fact that so many young people wish to participate in the national selection says it all. It is impressive to see the wide range of artists who have created songs for Eurosong 2023. With Olympian enthusiasm, loads of talent and the realization that this is still a matter of state interest. ‘We Want to Win!’ that’s what they all sing. Here and in Liverpool.”

Belgium have qualified for the final in the last two Eurovision Song Contests, with Jérémie Makiese and his song “Miss You” reaching 19th place in Turin this May.
