Azerbaijan confirm participation for Eurovision 2025

Azerbaijan will be present at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2025.

The Azerbaijani broadcaster has confirmed that the country will be participating in next years Eurovision Song Contest in Switzerland. Alongside this, they have also confirmed that submissions have opened for all interested singers / songwriters, who must also include some information about themselves. All songs can be submitted to: song@eurovision.az until September 15th.

As per the Eurovision rules set out by the EBU, all songs must not exceed three minutes, and cannot have been released or performed prior to September 1st 2024. Any songs that do not comply with these rules will not be considered valid, and will not be able to be part of Azerbaijan’s selection process for Eurovision 2025. The broadcaster reserves the right to make changes and/or additions to the winning song.

Since making their Eurovision debut in 2008, Azerbaijan have selected the majority of their representatives via an internal selection. Eurovision 2025 will mark the tenth consecutive internal selection for Azerbaijan, with the country having previously held a national final of some kind in 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. The country has one win under their belt, with Ell and Nikki in 2011.

Eurovision 2025 will be coming to Switzerland for the first time since 1989, after Nemo’s win in Malmö with “The Code”. The contest will be held in either Geneva or Basel, with a final decision expected by the end of the month.
