The Duo Have Won Vidbir 2024 and are headed for success in Malmö

Yesterday, Ukraine’s national selection ‘Vidbir’ took place with 11 artists all hoping to fly the flag for their country this May in Malmö, but there could only be one winner. The Vidbir 2024 line up included a wide variety of talented artists including some familiar faces such as Mélovin (Eurovision 2018), but it was Alyona Alyona and Jerry Heil’s night as they have won with their song “Teresa & Maria”.

The final results of Vidbir 2024 are as follows:

Combined results

  1. Alyona Alyona & Jerry Heil – 21 points
  2. Ziferblat – 19 points
  3. MÉLOVIN – 18 points
  4. YAKTAK – 16 points
  5. Yagody – 14 points
  6. Ingret – 10 points
  7. Skylerr – 9 points
  8. ANKA – 9 points
  9. Drevo – 7 points
  10. NAHABA – 6 points
  11. NAZVA – 3 points

Some added excitement and anticipation was present during tonight’s result announcement, as the results were supposed to be announced in last night’s show following the performances. However, due to technical issues surrounding the vidbir televoting system, the results had to be delayed until this evening to ensure a valid & fair result.

In 15 appearances at the Eurovision Song Contest, Ukraine has never missed a Grand Final. 9 of those 14 entries have finished in the top 10, 5 have finished in the top 3, and 2 have been winners. Of course at last year’s Eurovision Song Contest, Ukraine was represented by Tvorchi with their song “Heart Of Steel”. Tvorchi finished in 6th place in the Grand Final with 243 points. Can Alyona Alyona and Jerry Heil build on this result in Malmö 2024? Only time will tell.
