Albania have confirmed their participation in Junior Eurovision 2022.
The Albanian broadcaster has confirmed that Albania will be participating in the upcoming Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Yerevan, and that they will be using Junior Fest once again to chose their song and singer. The applications window is open now, and will remain open until Septemer 5th.
Since making their Junior Eurovision debut in 2012, Albania has always used a national final format to chose their representative. For the past few years, Albania have chosen the winner of Junior Fest as their Junior Eurovision representative, whilst in 2016, their act was the winner of Festivali i Këngës për Femije.
Albania’s confirmation of participation brings the number of participating countries in Junior Eurovision 2022 up to 13. They will join these 12 other countries in Yerevan this December:
- Armenia (host country)
- Bulgaria
- France
- Georgia
- Ireland
- Italy
- Malta
- North Macedonia
- Poland
- Portugal
- Spain
- The Netherlands
Junior Eurovision 2021 participating countries Azerbaijan; Germany; Kazakhstan; Serbia and Ukraine have yet to confirm their participation in this years contest. Russia will not be participating due to their broadcasters being banned from the EBU.
