Patrick Fiori says he will represent Armenia at Eurovision 2027.
Speaking on French talkshow Quelle époque !, French-Armenian singer Patrick Fiori, who represented France at Eurovision in 1993, has said that he will be representing Armenia at Eurovision in 2027.
“I will represent Armenia at the big Eurovision competition… In any case, I’m in favour, I’m seeing the people who are in charge of that. In principle, it will happen in 2027.”
This, however, is not the first time that Patrick Fiori has mentioned representing Armenia at Eurovision. Back in February, the singer mentioned on the show 1 heure avec that he was thinking of trying to represent Armenia at Eurovision.
“Yes, with great pleasure. I’m thinking about it, but will they want me? Will they accept me? There is a competition to pass. Armenia will be represented by artists that we don’t yet know today. But for next year, with great pleasure. I’m up for it, but not alone, in a duet with an Armenian artist I have in mind.”
Patrick Fiori was born in France to a Corsican mother and a French-Armenian father. His career in music began in 1981, when he was just 12 years old and was offered a role in the musical La Légende des santonniers. In 1993, he represented France at Eurovision with “Mama Corsica”, sung in a mix of French and Corsican. He went on to finish in 4th place with 121 points.
His debut album, Puisque c’est l’heure (Since it’s Time), was released the following year. Since then, Fiori has gone on to realease multiple albums, with his latest Le chant est libre (The Singing is Free), being released just last year. He has toured extensively throughout France, has won multiple awards, sang on the soundtrack for Mulan and The Prince of Egypt, and has been a judge on The Voice Kids, among many other things.
