Working hard! Samanta Tina is in recording studios to write her Eurovision 2021 song

| October 18, 2020

She’s been given a second chance at representing Latvia in Eurovision and she isn’t wasting any time in writing her song! It has been reported that Samanta Tina, the 2020 and 2021 Latvian representative, has spent some time this week in the recording studio working on the song she will sing in Eurovision next year.

The Still Breathing singer also took part in a songwriting camp in order to create a song for Samanta Tina to sing in 2021. Alongside her in this songwriting camp there were familiar faces such as 2015 alumni and fellow “Still Breathing” songwriter Aminata Savadogo.

Whilst we are unsure on when the song will be released or how it will be presented to the public, with all this work being done for the 2021 entry, we cannot wait to see what the final product will be!

Latvia in Eurovision

Since debuting in the 2000 contest, Latvia has never missed a contest. In 2002 Marie N won the contest with her song I Wanna. Marie N brought the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest to Riga, Latvia. Latvia’s best place besides the win in 2002, was on their debut in 2000 with Brainstorm’s My Star. Some of Latvia’s other memorable entries include Wolves Of The Sea (2008), Love Injected (2015) and Heartbeat (2016). Samanta Tina was chosen as Latvia’s representative for Eurovision 2020, before the contest got cancelled. For 2021, Samanta Tina has been internally selected to represent Latvia in Rotterdam.
