Although it’s only been less than two weeks since the grand final of Eurovision 2022, the rumour mills for 2023 are already up and running, and Cyprus is no exception to this.
Eurovision Fun report it has been rumoured that Cyprus could be heading for a popular televised singing show to chose their singer for Eurovision 2023. However, at this stage, it is only a rumour; nothing has been confirmed or denied by the Cypriot broadcaster.
“All Together Now”, originally a British television series that has made it’s way around the world, will be coming to Alpha TV in Cyprus in Autumn of 2022, and Greek media have reported that it will be this very show that will be used to select Cyprus’ Eurovision 2023 act.
All Together Now and Eurovision
Whilst “All Together Now” has never directly been used to chose a country’s Eurovision representative thus far, it does have some Eurovision connections. The United Kingdom’s Eurovision 2019 representative, Michael Rice, was crowned the winner of the first edition in 2018, and in 2021, made it to the final of the Russian version Ну-ка, все вместе!. His Eurovision 2019 alumni, Sergey Lazarev was the captain of the jury panel.
In August of 2021, the show made it to Ukraine, titled Співають всі, and some of of the star guests included Eurovision alumni Ruslana and Go_A. Check out Michael Rice’s winning performance of “Hallelujah” below.
