Yesterday, it was reported that some of the Czech Republic’s jury scores in the Eurovision 2021 grand final might taken away as one jury member, Tonya Graves, is not a Czech citizen. The rules set out by the EBU state that every jury member of each country must be a citizen of said country.

The Head of Press for the Czech Republic, Ahmad Halloun, has confirmed that whilst Tonya is an American citizen, she has been living in the Czech Republic for 20 years, and that the Czech broadcaster received an exemption from the EBU to allow her to be on the jury panel.

If this is the case, then the Czech Republic’s scores in the Eurovision 2021 grand final will be unaffected, and no country’s overall score will change.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think the Czech Republic should be able to keep their jury scores as they are? Let us know in the comments below!
