Ukraine confirm Junior Eurovision 2022 participation

The reigning Eurovision champions take the total for Yerevan up to 15!

Public Radio Of Armenia have reported that Ukraine will participate in Junior Eurovision 2022 taking place in Yerevan on 11 December. 

Ukrainian broadcaster Suspilne Ukraine will announce the national selection process very soon. 

There was some doubts as to whether Ukraine would be able to take part due to the ongoing Russian invasion, but those worries have now been answered. 

Last year, Ukraine came in 6th place with Olena Usenko and her song “Vazhil

Junior Eurovision 2022 line up (so far)

With Ukraine’s participation confirmed, the total of countries currently taking part in Junior Eurovision 2022 is up to 15, they are:

  • Albania
  • Armenia (host country)
  • Bulgaria
  • France
  • Georgia
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • Malta
  • Netherlands
  • North Macedonia 
  • Poland
  • Portugal
  • Serbia
  • Spain 
  • Ukraine

Out of the countries that took part last year in Paris, only Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are yet to confirm or deny their participation for this year’s contest. Russia won’t be taking part due to their broadcasters being banned from the EBU. While Germany announced earlier this week they wouldn’t be participating in Yerevan, but intend to return next year
