Tonight: Moldova, Iceland and Serbia select for Eurovision 2023, Melodifestivalen and Festival da Canção continue

Tonight, a further three countries will be chosing their entry for Eurovision 2023.

The final of Etapa Națională, Söngvakeppnin and Pesma za Evroviziju take place tonight, giving us three new Eurovision 2023 entries for Moldova, Iceland and Serbia. 

Sweden and Portugal will be continuing with Melodifestivalen and Festival da Canção, with semi final (formerly Andra Chansen) and semi final 2 respectively.

Moldova: Etapa Națională

The final of Etapa Națională 2023 takes place in TRM Studio, Chișinău, from 18:00 to 21:00 CET. A total of 10 acts will be competing, including three former Eurovision stars. The results will be decided by 50% televote and 50% jury vote.

You can watch the show on the official TRM website, Facebook, YouTube. OutTV will also be broadcasting the show live in Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Israel, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

Sweden: Melodifestivalen

Melodifestivalen 2023 is almost over as we reach the semi final stage. Formerly Andra Chansen, the semi final will see eight acts battling it out for the remaining four places in the final.

The show takes place in Hägglunds Arena, Örnsköldsvik from 20:00 to 21:30 CET, and is hosted by Jesper Rönndahl and Farah Abadi. The results will be decided by 100% televote. You can watch the show live on SVT Play, or via the SVT app on Android and iOS.

Iceland: Söngvakeppnin

After two semi finals, Iceland have reached the final stages of Söngvakeppnin 2023 as they get ready to chose their Eurovision 2023 entry.

The show takes place live in Reykjavík, hosted by Unnsteinn Manuel Stefánsson, Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir, and Sigurður Þorri Gunnarsson, from 20:45 to 23:10 CET. It is available to watch on RÚV, and its Android and iOS apps.

Five acts will be competing in the final show. The voting will be split into two rounds; in the first round, 50% televote and 50% jury vote will decide which two of the five acts will advance to the superfinal, where the televoting combined with the votes from the first round will determine the overall winner.

Serbia: Pesma za Evroviziju '23

The final of Pesma za Evroviziju ’23 takes place tonight in order to find Serbia’s Eurovision 2023 representative. The final will see 16 acts competing, with the winner being decided by 50% televote and 50% jury vote.

  • Dzipsii – “Greh” (Sin)
  • Luke Black – “Samo mi se spava” (I’m just sleepy)
  • Filip Baloš – “Novi plan drugi san” (A new plan, another dream)
  • Princ – “Cvet sa Istoka” (Flower from the East)
  • Filarri – “Posle mene” (After me)
  • Gift – “Liberta” (Liberty)
  • Emphaty Soul Project – “Indigo”
  • Zejna – “Rumba”

The show takes place in RTS Studio 8, Belgrade, from 21:05 to 00:05 CET. It will be hosted by Milan Marić and Dragana Kosjerina, with Kristina Radenković and Stefan Popović as greenroom hosts. You can watch it live on YouTube.

Portugal: Festival da Canção

Festival da Canção 2023 continues tonight with semi final 2. A further 10 acts will be competing, with six advancing to the final – five advancing from the first round of 50% jury 50% televote, and one advancing via 100% televoting in the second round.

The show takes place at RTP Studio 1 in Lisbon from 22:00 to 01:30 CET. Sónia Araújo, Jorge Gabriel and Inês Lopes Gonçalves will be the hosts.
