We have another confirmed Eurovision act for 2021: The Irish singer and songwriter Lesley Roy has just been confirmed by the official Eurovision Channel as well as on social media. Therefore, she joins the big number of returning artists from 2020. Roy was supposed to compete in Rotterdam in May 2020 with the pop-rock song Story Of My Life. Unfortunately, this didn’t happen due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Luckily, 2021 will definitely gonna take place in some kind of way and Lesley is gonna get her chance to compete in the biggest music show on earth. Since making its debut in 1965, Ireland have only missed 2 contests, in 1983 and 2002. Counting in at 7 victories, Ireland is the country with the most Eurovision wins so far. They won the contest in 1970, 1980, 1987, 1992,1993, 1994 and 1996. Johnny Logan, who won the contest in 1980, 1987 as a singer and in 1992 as a composer, remains the only artist to have won the contest multiple times. On top of the 3 wins, Ireland also came second three times, and third once. Ireland is the only country to have hosted the Eurovision multiple times in a row, in 1993, 1994 and 1995. They also hosted the 1971, 1981, 1988 and 1997 contest. Lesley Roy was supposed to sing Story Of My Life at the 2020 Eurovision before the contest got cancelled.
