The Melodifestivalen 2023 line-up is complete as the final 14 artists are revealed

SVT have revealed the final 14 artists (and their song titles) who will be competing in Melodifestivalen 2023.

Just yesterday, the first 14 Melodifestivalen 2023 acts were confirmed, who will be cometing in the first two heats. And today, we know the artists who will be competing in the 3rd and 4th heats.

Heat 3:

  1. Marcus and Martinus – “Air”
  2. Melanie Wehbe – “For the Show”
  3. Ida-Lova – “Låt hela stan se på” (Let the whole town watch)
  4. Paul Rey – “Royals”
  5. Nordman – “Släpp alla sorger” (Let go off all sorrows)
  6. Laurell – “Sober”
  7. Casanovas – “Så kommer känslorna tillbaka” (Then the feelings come back

Heat 4:

  1. Signe and Hjördis – “Edelweiss”
  2. Axel Schylström – “Gorgeous”
  3. Emil Henrohn – “Mera mera mera” (More more more)
  4. Mariette – “One Day”
  5. Smash Into Pieces – “Six Feet Under”
  6. Loreen – “Tattoo”
  7. Kiana – “Where Did You Go”

There are a lot of familiar faces in the line-up, most notably Loreen, who of course won Eurovision 2012 with “Euphoria”, and made it to the Andra Chansen (second chance) round in 2017 with “Statements”.

Another familiar name is Laurell {Barker}, who has written many Eurovision songs over the years: “Stones” (Switzerland 2018); “Sister” (Germany 2019), “She Got Me” (Switzerland 2019), “Bigger Than Us” (United Kingdom 2019), “Empires” (Poland 2020) and “El diablo” (Cyprus 2021).

Melanie Wehbe has won Melodifestivalen as a songwriter in 2020, penning The Mama’s winning entry “Move”. Paul Rey was in Melodifestivalen 2020 and 2021 with “Talking In Your Sleep” and “The Missing Piece” respectively.

Nordman have participated in Melodifestivalen on two occassions – in 2005 with “Ödet Var Min Väg”, and in 2008 with “I Lågornas Sken”. 

One fifth of Casanovas, Henrik Sethsson, won Melodifestivalen 2001 as the songwriter for “Listen To Your Heartbeat”, sung by Friends. He has also written “Something In Your Eyes” by Jenny Silver from Melodifestivalen 2011.

Mariette returns to Melodifestivalen for a fifth time, having previously participated in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2020.

Melodifestivalen 2023 will take place across six Swedish cities between February 4th and March 11th:

  • Heat 1 – February 4 – Gothenburg
  • Heat 2 – Feburary 11 – Linköping
  • Heat 3 – Feburary 18 – Lidköping
  • Heat 4 – February 25 – Malmö
  • Semi Final – March 4 – Örnsköldsvik
  • Grand Final – March 11 – Stockholm
