Switzerland to open submissions for Eurovision 2022 on September 1st

After confirming their participation for Eurovision 2022 back in April, and launching their search for jury members to help chose their entry, Switzerland’s broadcaster has now confirmed that they will open their submissions for Eurovision 2022 on September 1st.

At the present time, we do not know any more information about Switzerland’s selection method for Eurovision 2022, but more details on this are expected to be revealed in August. It is likely that Switzerland will once again be going for an internal selection, as opposed to a national final, with a number of jury members selecting Switzerland’s song for next years contest in Italy.

Since reverting to an internal selection in 2019, Switzerland has seen two consecutive top 5 placings in Eurovision. Luca Hänni finished in 4th place in 2019 with “She Got Me” and “Tout L’Univers” by Gjon’s Tears won the jury vote and finished in 3rd place overall in 2021.
