With three months to go until this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest, newcomers Germany have become the first country to chose their singer and song for the upcoming contest in Poland. 13 year old Susan was crowned the winner of “KiKA Live: Junior Eurovision Song Contest – Das Casting” with the song “Stronger With You”.
“Since I was little, it has always been my dream to take part in the Eurovision Song Contest. It is all the more exciting that I am now allowed to represent Germany at Junior Eurovision. I hope that I can make my country and the people who stand behind me proud.”
Out of a total of 70 applications, 5 were shortlisted to participate in “Junior Eurovision Song Contest – Das Casting”. The five singers – Davit, Leroy Kay, Linnea May, Malaika and eventual winner, Susan, all sang two songs: “See You Later” and “Stronger With You”.
The 5 singers sang in front of a 4 member jury, made up of music professionals, who went on to decide who would be the winner and go on to represent Germany in Junior Eurovision 2020.
German broadcaster ZDF will go on to produce a 2 part documentary “Your Song For Warsaw”, which will follow the journey of the winning song, starting from its composition by Levent Geiger, to the casting process and finishing with the final performance of the song.
