Submissions have now opened for Festivali i Këngës 61.
The official RTSH website have announced that the submissions for the 61st edition of Festivali i Këngës have now opened. It has not yet been revealed when the submissions window will be closed.
The broadcaster has also announced the rules in which all singers and songwriters must adhere to in order to compete. All interested persons must submit:
- The final version of the song, with lead vocals. It must not exceed four minutes.
- The final instrumental version of the song, with or without backing vocals.
- The lyrics to the song.
- The names of the writers and composers of the song.
- A photo and biography of the singer/s, including information about their other achievements.
If any of these things are missing from the submitted song, it could make their entry invalid, and thus, they will not able to take their submission any further.
All interested persons can send their song submissions to the Protocol Office (Zyrës së Protokollit) of RTSH in Tirana, or they can email it to: festival@rtsh.al.
Since Albania’s Eurovision debut in 2004, they have always used Festivali i Këngës to chose their song and singer for the contest. As of now, Albania has yet to confirm their participation for Eurovision 2023, and if they will once again use Festivali i Këngës as their selection method.
The most recent winner of Festivali i Këngës is Ronela Hajati, who won the right to represent Albania in Eurovision 2022 with her song “Sekret”. She finished in 12th place with 58 points in semi final 1.
