Spain will choose Blas Cantó’s song in a national final

| January 28, 2021

After the cancellation of Eurovision 2020, Spain was one of the countries that immediately confirmed the re-election of its artist for Eurovision 2021. Blás Cantó was going to sing “Universo” last year, a song chosen internally by him. However, Blas wants the public to choose his song for Rotterdam 2021 in a national final. This national final will be live next February and, in it, Blas will sing two songs.

The Spanish Public Television (RTVE) has announced this morning through its website that the audience will be able to choose the song of Spain in Eurovision 2021 in a live show whose date will be announced soon. This national final will not have a jury. The audience will be able to vote for their favourite option for free on the website and the application of RTVE. In addition, people can vote through phone calls and text messages.

Regarding the songs, RTVE announces that they will be published soon. Both songs are the result of an internal selection process that has counted on a team from RTVE, another from the Dicografica Warner and with the artist himself. Blas Cantó has advanced that “they are two totally different songs.”

What do you expect from the songs of this national final? Will they continue in the style of “Universo”? Let us know in the comments!
