She’s the powerhouse performer who secured her position as the Latvian entrant to Eurovision 2020 on her 6th attempt in the national selection process. But now Samanta Tīna will find herself on the opposite side of the judging table on the Latvian version of The Masked Singer.
Under the local title of Balss Maskā, Samanta joins a panel of celebrity judges, reviewing the vocal abilities of 12 celebrities who will perform anonymously in elaborate head-to-toe costumes. Balss Maskā starts on TV3 on 13th September.
Speaking about the upcoming series Samanta has said ‘This is a new and unprecedented show in the history of Latvia, and I am sure that the audience on the other side of the screens will have as much excitement as the detective team. I really like that our task is not to evaluate vocal performance, but to expose personalities, which is a new and unprecedented challenge for myself! We are a great team where everyone uses their weapons, thus helping each other!’
Samanta Tina was set to perform on the Eurovision 2020 stage with the up-tempo hit ‘Still Breathing’. Following the cancellation of Eurovision 2020, Latvian Broadcaster LTV confirmed that Samanta would again represent Latvia in 2021, delivering the news to her on a live broadcast before Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light, last May.
