San Marino is one of the countries who has nominated the same artist for Eurovision 2021 as they did for Eurovision 2020. Just as last year, Sammarinese broadcaster RTV internally picked Senhit as their 2021 representative. In terms of the selection process, there is new information!
According to their Instagram account, San Marino is currently working out how they want to determine Senhit’s Eurovision entry for 2021. Last year, an online vote took place between the songs Obsessed and Freaky where the latter emerged victorious.
Out of all the participating countries, San Marino is the smallest. The microstate debuted at Eurovision in 2008 and qualified for the grand final twice so far. The country is known for returning singers Valentina Monetta who has represented her country four times so far and qualified once in 2014, and Serhat represented San Marino twice and achieved their best result so far in 2019 with 19th place with the song Say Na Na Na. Senhit has also participated at Eurovision before in 2011 with the ballad Stand By and came 16th in her semifinal.
