Rotterdam will Open Up in 2021. But which countries will be there?

That is the magic number!

With just over 6 months until the Eurovision Song Contest 2021, today the European Broadcast Union has announced today that all 41 countries who were due to compete at the cancelled 2020 contest will be returning.

Martin Österdahl, the Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest said in a press release:

“We are grateful for the commitment of the 41 participating broadcasters in helping us bring the Eurovision Song Contest back in 2021.

We have the exact same lineup of countries that would have competed in 2020 and we are thrilled that they will all return next year.

Together with our host broadcasters we are continuing to develop the 4 different scenarios and maintaining a dialogue with all participants. The team from NPO, NOS and AVROTROS are working hard on ensuring the Eurovision Song Contest will provide the excitement and innovation expected by over 180 million viewers, despite the challenging circumstances.”

So far, 19 countries have confirmed their artists from 2020 will be returning, including: Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Georgia, Greece, Iceland, Israel, Latvia, Malta, Moldova, Netherlands, Romania, San Marino, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland and Ukraine.

They will join Albania, Armenia, Belarus, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Sweden, United Kingdom who are all yet to announce their entries, many of which will be via a National Final.
