Romanian broadcaster TVR have confirmed that their Eurovision 2017 representative (alongside Alex Florea) Ilinca Băcilă, will be hosting “Drumul spre Torino” (Road to Turin), which will be a three-part show dedicated to the participants of Selecția Naționala 2022.
The three shows will be broadcast on TVR 1 on February 5th, 6th and 7th, and they will go behind the scenes of Selecția Naționala 2022, offering an insight in to the filming and preparations of the show, as Ilinca explains.
“This is the fifth year in a rown that I have been a part of Eurovision in one way or another. I represented Romania in the competition, I was in the natiomal jury, in the international one, I presented Romania’s points in the international phase and this year, I have the opportunity to be with those who are fighting to represenent, in their turn, our country… This time, I will meet again with Eurovision fans from the position of presenter of the three shows in which you will have the opportunity to meet the semifinalists of this year’s edition.”
As part of this three-part series, all of the 46 semi final performances will be available to watch on the official TVR website and YouTube channel and on the official Eurovision Romania Facebook page.
As part of Selecția Naționala 2022, fans will be able to vote for their favourite acts for the first time in the shows history. On February 9th and 10th, fans can vote for a maximum of five songs that they would like to see advance to the second part of the semi finals, with the jury advancing 15 acts.
In the second part of the semi finals, 20 acts will perform for one of 10 spaces in the grand final on March 5th. The jury will chose each of these 10 acts. The grand final winner will be decided by a mix of jury vote and televote.
