The Belgian press recently reported the death of singer Robert Cogoi, stage name Mirko Kogoj, at the age of 82, although the cause of death has not been given.
Born in Châletet, in southern Belgium, to Yugoslav parents, the singer was one of Belgium’s most successful artists in the 1960s, and was the first Belgian representative at the Eurovision Song Contest to be chosen internally by broadcaster RTBF.
In Copenhagen, the artist interpreted “Près de ma rivière”, a song that ended in 10th place among 16 countries with 2 points.
We should all express our condolences, due to the passing of yet another one of our Eurovision stars!
