The third season of The Masked Singer Germany made a surprising turn: In the semi final, the cat was revealed, and it was the one and only Vicky Leandros, Eurovision winner of 1972 for Luxembourg with the song “Aprés toi”. Before this, Leandros had already participated in Eurovision 1967 for the small state and finished 4th with the song “L’amour est bleu”.
The German-Greek singer participated in The Masked Singer of Germany at the age of 68, and surprised everyone with her agility and fitness. With her first Eurovision participation at the age of 15, she has been in music and television for over 50 years already!
With over 55 million sales, Leandros is one of the biggest stars in current times. However, Vicky Leandros hasn’t been the only participating Eurovision star in the Masked Singer Germany. Max Mutzke who participated for Germany in 2004 with the song “Can’t Wait Until Tonight” (with a great 8th place finish!) has been the winner of the first season in the astronaut costume. Lucy Diakovska, singer of the pop-band No Angels who represented Germany in 2008 with the song “Disappear”, finishing in last position. Her performance in The Masked Singer wasn’t that successful though, as she was eliminated with her octopus costume in the first show.
