Remo Forrer to represent Switzerland at Eurovision 2023

The Voice winner Remo Forrer will be representing Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool.

Swiss broadcaster SRF made the announcement through their official website. Remo’s entry for Eurovision will be released on March 7. 

Speaking to SRF, Remo said:

“For me, the ESC is one of the greatest things you can do. It has always been a dream and I’m super happy that it’s now coming true”.

Speaking on his Eurovision 2023 entry:

“The song means a lot to me. It definitely has catchy tunes and has been following me for months. And it demands everything from my voice, it goes from very low to very high.”

Who is Remo Forrer?

Remo Forrer is a 21 year old singer from Hemberg. In 2020, Remo won the third series of The Voice of Switzerland.

Remo has released 4 singles since then, with his most successful being “Let Go” which has over 11k views on YouTube.

Switzerland at Eurovision

Switzerland will forever be a historic country in the Eurovision Song Contest, winning the first ever edition in 1956 with Lys Assia and her song “Refrain“. Switzerland have the won the contest once more in 1988 with “Ne partez pas sans moi“, performed by music icon Céline Dion

In recent years, Switzerland have managed to pick up their form in the contest. In the last three contests Switzerland have qualified for the final every year and reached the top 5 twice. Last year, Marius Bear lead Switzerland to 17th place with his song “Boys Do Cry“.
