A RAI’s delegation recently made its first visit to the EBU, where it met with the Reference Group. Simona Martorelli, Head of Italian Delegation, shared with Eurovision.tv her enthusiasm for hosting the competition in Italy: “There is a lot of excitement surrounding the Eurovision Festival in Italy. This victory is combined with a sense of renaissance that Italy really needs We are looking forward to working with the Reference Group in producing an amazing Eurovision Festival in Italy in 2022. In Eurovision history, my favorite song is ‘Waterloo’ by ABBA, and my favorite Italian song is clearly ‘Zitti And Buoni’ by Måneskin”.
Martin Österdahl, Executive Supervisor of the ESC, shares the same enthusiasm: “The transition between the previous and the next host network is always a special moment, and even more so this year. We reflect on three spectacular shows in Rotterdam, and we are excited to receive the Rai team, and already looking forward to what they will offer us in 2022″.
