No live audience for Finnish national final UMK 2021

| January 9, 2021

As the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic is still prevailing, Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK), Finland’s national selection for their entry to the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest, will have no live audience in the southern city of Tampere come February 20.

Furthermore, the seven finalists chosen from almost 300 submissions made to Finnish broadcaster Yleisradio (YLE) will be revealed on January 13.

Commemorating its 10th anniversary this year, UMK will witness the seven acts compete for the golden ticket to Rotterdam after last year’s winner, Aksel Kankaanranta, opted not to participate this year, citing uncertainty of the Eurovision Song Contest happening this year.

You can watch Andy’s reaction to Aksel’s UMK 2020 performance below!
