Dami Im has released her eagerly awaited single Paper Dragon. This marks her first release after signing with ABC Music label recently. The song was slated to be her entry in Eurovision – Australia Decides 2021, which has been postponed until 2022.
In an interview with amnplify.com.au, she said
“Paper Dragon marks the beginning of the most exciting and authentic chapter in my career and it deserves the best partner to take it out into the world. I’m feeling the most creative and free right now and I’m thrilled to be working with the team at ABC Music who truly support my vision as an artist.”
After storming all the way to 2nd place in the 2016 contest, Dami announced at Eurovision – Australia Decides 2020 that she was intending to “throw her hat in the ring” and compete for the right to represent Australia in 2021. Paper Dragons has been rumoured to be the song she intended to compete with.
With the cancellation of Eurovision 2020, and the subsequent decision to send Montaigne to Rotterdam in 2021, it remains to be seen if Dami will put herself forward in 2022.
