It has been confirmed that Nadir Rüstəmli will represent Azerbaijan at Eurovision 2022.
The Azeri broadcaster iTV have once again opted for an internal selection find their Eurovision representative, and this year, their choice is the most recent winner of The Voice Azerbaijan.
Azerbaiian’s Head of Delegation, Isa Malikov, who was also on Sabahın xeyir, Azərbaycan with Nadir explained that the broadcaster received over 300 submissions for this years Eurovision Song Contest: “As always, we try to look for a beautiful and professional song, regardless of genre. We will pay attention to the degree to which it will match the voice and style of the singer”
The song that Nadir will sing on the Eurovision stage in Turin is not expected to be revealed until March, as Isa goes on to explain: “The selection process will be completed in the second week of March and the song will be announced then.”
Who is Nadir Rüstemli?
Nadir was born in Salyan in July 1999 and is an aspiring singer. In 2019, he achieved second place for Azerbaijan in the Youthvision International Song Contest. More recently, participated in The Voice Azerbaijan, with Eurovision 2011 winner Eldar Gadimov as his coach, and went on to win the whole show.
