It is Moscow calling for Natalia Gordienko! Natalia is set to work with Dimitris Kontopoulos and Elias Kokotos on her Eurovision 2021 entry in Russia’s capital city, after travel bans changed their original plans of recording the video in Athens, Greece.
But, if you are expecting “Prison” part 2, then you might be left feeling a little blue. Reports have hinted at an uptempo piece reminiscent of ‘Siren Song”, the almost-but-never-was Ukranian entry for Eurovision 2019 sung by Maruv.
Despite Tele-Radio Moldova (TRM) not yet formally announcing Natalia’s participation at Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam, the singer has stated on her social media that she would be representing Moldova again.
Moldova debuted at the Eurovision Song contest in 2005 with “Boonika bate doba” performed by Zdob și Zdub, which placed 6th in the final. Out of their 15 appearances at Eurovision Song Contest, they have failed to qualify 5 times and their best result to date is “Hey Mama” by Sunstroke Project, coming in 3rd in 2017.
