Tonight Melodifestivalen 2021 finally kicked off, and despite a lack of a live audience, it got off to a great start! The show aired live from Annexet, Stockholm where all Melodifestivalen shows this year will take place due to the ongoing Corona pandemic.
Danny Saucedo with the song Dandi Dansa and Arvingarna with the song Tänker inte alls gå hem were the first songs to directly qualify to the grand final on the 13th of March, while Paul Rey with the song The Missing Peice and Lillasyster with the song Pretender were given the first spots to the Second Chance round (Andra Chansen) which takes place on the 6th of March.
The songs that were unfortunately eliminated were ranked as follows:
5th: Jessica Andersson – Horizon
6th: Kadiatou – One Touch
7th: Natalie Brydolf – Fingerprints
But this was just show number one. The search for Sweden’s Eurovision entry for 2021 continues with these remaining shows:
Semi 2 – On the 13th of February
Semi 3 – On the 20th of February
Semi 4 – On the 27th of February
Second Chance round (Andra Chansen) – On the 6th of March
Final – On the 13th of March
All shows air from Annexet in Stockholm.
