Lithuania have chosen! It’s Monika Linkytė for Eurovision 2023 with her song “Stay”

Lithuania have chosen Monika Linkytė to represent them at Eurovision 2023 with her song "Stay".

The final of Pabandom iš naujo 2023 took place tonight from LRT Studios in Vilnius. Giedrius MasalskisAugustė Nombeko and Richardas Jonaitis were the hosts for the show.

A total of ten acts competed in the final show for the chance to be crowned Lithuania’s Eurovision 2023 representative. 

  1. Mario Junes – “Do What You Do”
  2. Moon Bee – “Rumor”
  3. Justė Kraujelytė – “Need More Fun”
  4. Paulina Paukštaitytė – “Let Me Think About Me”
  5. Beatrich – “Like a Movie”
  6. Rūta Mur – “So Low”
  7. Il Senso – “Sparnai” (Wings)
  8. Petunija – “Love of My Life”
  9. Gabrelius Vagelis – “Šauksmas” (Shout)
  10. Monika Linkytė – “Stay”

The final results of tonight’s show were decided by 50% televote and 50% jury vote. The jury panel was made up of nine members:

  1. Ramūnas Zilnys – popular music editor-in-chief for LRT
  2. Monika Liu – Lithuanian representative in Eurovision 2022
  3. Raminta Naujalytė-Bjelle – Singer
  4. Ieva Narkutė – Singer / songwriter
  5. Vytautas Bikus – Music Producer
  6. Jievaras Jasinskis – composer and member of InCulto (Eurovision 2010)
  7. Vaidotas Valiukevičius – Lead singer of The Roop (Eurovision 2020 and 2021)
  8. Stanislavas Stavickis-Stano – Composer and singer
  9. Gerūta Griniūtė – Radio personality and television presenter

Monika was the winner of the jury vote, whilst Rūta Mur won the televote. Monika finished in second place with the televote.

The interval act consisted of  Eurovision 2019 winner, Duncan Laurence, performing “Arcade” and Monika Lui performing her latest single “Šampas” and Eurovision entry “Sentimentai”.

Monika Linkytė becomes Lithuania’s 23rd Eurovision representative since their debut in 1994. They proceed reigning Pabandom iš naujo champion Monika Lui, who went on to achieve 14th place with 128 points in the Eurovision 2022 final with “Sentimentai”.

This years marks Monika Linkytė’s second national final win, and second Eurovision participation. In 2015, she represented Lithuania at Eurovision with Vaidas Baumila and their song “This Time”.
